Students from the Junior and Senior classes spent some of their advisory time on Wednesday's to learn how to dance in preparation for prom. They learned the two-step and swing dance, and they were able to teach each other along the way. It was a blast for both students and teachers.

High School Golf and Track practices begin today after school. Middle School Track practice begins Wednesday after school.

Now Hiring Early Childhood Full-time Lead Teacher (Older toddler/Preschool) – The childcare full-time teacher will work closely with the other teachers in conducting daily duties such as serving meals, planning and delivering lessons, writing daily reports, supervising children during outdoor activities, assisting to put children to sleep, and creating a safe environment. Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $13.00 per hour This position is benefits eligible (health, dental, and retirement). Free Early Childhood Screening at Herington Elementary School Developmental screenings for children ages birth to five will take place on Thursday, April 17h at Herington Elementary School. The screening is provided free of charge and will assess cognitive, motor, language, and social development as well as provide hearing, vision, and dental screenings. The screening is a required part of the application process for the HES Little Railers Preschool program. There are fee and grant based spots available in the program for those who qualify. Winter Awards tonight in the HS gym at 6:30.

John participated at Job Olympics in Manhattan. He competed in custodial, gift basket assembly, mail sorting, and stocking shelves. He placed 1st in gift basket assembly and custodial. He placed 2nd in mail sorting!

Herington Archery The Railer archery team traveled to Pratt KS on Saturday March 1st to compete in bullseye and 3D competition against 14 other schools from central Kansas. The Railers performed well, bringing home 5 individual medals from bullseye and 6 individual medals and 3 team trophies from 3D. The railers are continuing to get better every week. They had 23 new PR’s set on saturday. In the Bullseye competition, the following archers placed: Atalie Alexander 2nd place HS Girls 274 Gage Billinger 3rd place HS Boys 276 Austin Henson 2nd place MS Boys 259 Carly Miller 2nd place MS girls 265 Brynlee Alexander 3rd place ES Girls 219 In the 3D competition, the following archers placed: Koryn Alexander 1st place HS Girls 272 Austin Henson 1st place MS Boys 273 Tyson Schlesener 3rd place MS Boys 261 Lillian Rucker 1st place MS Girls 266 Brynlee Alexander & Emma Pruitt tied for 3rd place ES Girls 205 Along with the following team awards in 3D: 2nd place HS team 1st place MS team 2nd place ES team Austin Henson & Koryn Alexander were the #2 & #3 shooters (respectively) across all divisions in the 3D competition. Great Job Railers!!! The Railer Archery Team competes next at home on the 15th of March when they host The Herington State Preview Tournament.
