Alumni Spotlight - Tim Kolling class of 1988 Tim Kolling with Alpha Media Topeka was awarded the Radio Wayne 2022 National Marketing Consultant / Streetfighter of the Year Award. The 20th Radio Ink Radio Wayne Awards were presented on September 22, 2022, in Miami Florida at the Radio Masters Summit. The Radio Wayne Awards were named for Wayne Cornils, a man whose passion and devotion to the radio industry was legendary. Wayne’s career spanned decades across many facets of the industry, most especially sales, marketing, and management. This year, awards were presented in six categories. Tim Kolling with Alpha Media Topeka was awarded the Radio Wayne 2022 National Marketing Consultant / Streetfighter of the Year Award. “We are truly thrilled that Tim received national recognition for his unwavering commitment to success as a senior marketing consultant over the past 29 years. Tim is not only an asset to our team, but he is also a vital resource for his clients and community. Innovative, relatable, and accountable, Tim embodies best-in-class service, and we are grateful to work with him,” Cissy Long, director of sales for Alpha Media. The awards are determined by a “blind” system in which judges do not know the identity of the finalists they are evaluating. “We feel this is the best way to truly allow the cream to rise to the top without bias or favoritism,” explained Radio Ink President/Publisher Deborah Parenti. “I am beyond humbled by this recognition. I was thrilled just to be nominated by my peers. When I found out I was a finalist with some of the finest marketing experts in the nation I was blown away. I still can’t comprehend that I won. I give the credit to my fellow team members, mentors, and of course my clients who let me partner with them to grow their business,” Tim Kolling, senior marketing consultant for Alpha Media.

Atmos Energy contacted HES about making a donation to our elementary school for a kindness project their company was putting together. Yesterday, Atmos Energy donated several boxes of different snack items for our students. The snacks were divided up, put into a gallon zip lock bags, and delivered to each classroom. Thank You Atmos Energy!!

Third graders and preschoolers are working in partnership to complete hands-on activities that are tied to the books read during library time. There are many skills worked on during this time for both age groups, but the biggest benefit is the friendships developed between older and younger students. #gameon

Congratulations to the HES September student of the month, Leonard Tiede - first grade student in Miss Scheetz's class. Leonard has been chosen as student of the month because he is always working really hard in class. He tries his best on all of his assignments and tests. Leonard follows the Railway expectations and knows how to be safe, respectful, and responsible in the hallways, classroom, and playground. Keep up the great work, Leonard! Leonard is the son of Megan Lemler.
