According to Attendance Works, if your child misses 10%, or about 18 days of school, it can drastically affect their academic success. By 9th grade, regular and high attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores. Communicate with the school about our attendance policies and work to ensure the success of your child!

HMS January Student of the Month
The middle school staff members chose 8th grader, Winter Amoyan as the January Student of the Month. Winter participates in the gifted program, quiz bowl, archery and the art program. Winter isn’t exactly sure why she was chosen, but she thinks the main reason is her academics. Winter feels that she is able to work with people on projects and keeps her grade up during times when she is stressed. When things get hard for Winter, she tries to keep a “Growing Mindset.” Winter is the daughter of Joel and Meg Amoyan.
