Flat Stanley Part 2: Here are the rest of the pictures from our Flat Stanley presentations today!
Mrs. Mortensen's third grade reading MTSS group presented their Flat Stanley Projects today. Flat Stanley is a character in a book by Jeff Brown who gets flattened when a bulletin board falls on him. He wants to visit his friend in California, but traveling is expensive so his parents mail him. Third graders colored their own "flat people" and sent them to friends and family in different parts of the United States. While the "flat people" were visiting, students researched the state their "flat person" went to and created a slide show on their computers with the information they found Then when the "flat people" came back, the students took the information that was sent back and created posters or folders with the information. Today they presented their research to other students and teachers in the building. Not only did they learn to research and use technology to present, they also learned to write letters and how to stand in front of people to present. It was a great learning experience! There will be a part two to this post so that I can share everyone's picture!

2026 Winter Homecoming Basketball Game tonight at HHS. The crowning will take place during the halftime of the boys varsity game. Go Railers!
Congratulations to the HMS boys for advancing to the final rounds of the MS Wheat State League Basketball Tournament on Saturday. Games will be at Hope on Saturday, February 7th. Good Luck Railers!
The HES PTO will be hosting the "Donuts with Grownups" event on February 13 from 7:35-8:00 am in the cafeteria and gym. There will be milk and donuts provided. Then, that evening HES PTO will host the "Friendship Dance" from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. There will be snacks and drinks, and music for the kiddos to dance with. Parents must accompany students at this event. We hope you can come!
Herington FCCLA competed in star Events in Abilene on Wednesday. All four groups will go onto state in April.
Cadence and Koryn ended their year as District Officers while Alexis and Lilian were elected as new officers.
