Mrs. Susan Mueller, her husband Ray, and community member Clarendene spent the day at the Middle School creating projects out of recycled materials in honor of Earth Day. Our middle school students were very creative and created some great projects! We appreciate the opportunity working with members of our community.

Herington High School received a visit from Senator Jerry Moran. Students Raquel Lawrenz, Henry Nelson, Isabelle Ecklund, Aidan Thibodeau, and Leslyn Kremeier led the tour and walked him around our school facilities. They were able to explain the importance of our career technical education pathways and the opportunities that it has presented to them so far. He met briefly with our seniors, the fine arts department, our student ran coffee shop, our ag department, and others. We are happy to have him come see the hard work our students and teachers do everyday.

Dickinson County Transition Coalition hosted a job fair featuring 20 different local businesses. Students explored each booth and talked with the representatives about the details of the jobs, how to apply, and what the work is like. Each group also brought items for the students to take such as fliers, documents with more details and who to contact, stickers, pens, and more! HHS would like to thank the businesses that participated in our job fair! We would love to see you all back again next year. If you are a business owner who would like to participate next year please contact HHS Principal Mark Paul.

The senior class enjoyed an activity filled weekend in Kansas City. They wore themselves out playing games like bowling, mini golf, lazer tag, and more at Rush Funplex and Activate. They spent Friday evening cooking a family dinner and playing games. On Saturday they spent the morning shopping at Legends. Then they headed to the KC Zoo and Aquarium before heading to dinner and traveling home. It’s hard to believe they only have two more weeks of high school! 🚂♥️🧡
