First graders in Ms. Fegan's class have been reading stories about how different things are built. This week, they heard "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs" and tried to build their own wolf-proof structures using Play-Doh and toothpicks. They had some awesome ideas! #breakingout

Little Railers Preschoolers are so lucky to have such knowledgeable and talented assistant teachers! Miss Georgia brought her bee-keeping tools as well as honeycomb, beeswax products, and honey sticks to show the preschoolers last week. She also brought a variety of insect samples for children to inspect with magnifying glasses. Preschoolers are #breakingout with hands-on experiences to study our curriculum unit on insects!

HES Families: Because of the forecasted weather, we are going to postpone our “Lunch on the Lawn” and “Down on the Farm Literacy Night” events that were originally scheduled for this upcoming Friday, April 16th. These events will now be scheduled for Friday, April 30th. The “Lunch on the Lawn” will continue to occur during your child’s regularly scheduled lunch time. We will also be switching the menu to chicken nuggets and other food items more conducive to a picnic on the lawn. If you would like to eat a school lunch that date, please purchase your ticket by Thursday, April 29th. Contact the office at 785-258-3234 to purchase tickets and find out your child’s exact lunch time. The “Down on the Farm Literacy Night” is still slated to begin at 6:00 and more information will be sent home sometime in the next couple of weeks. Please make plans to attend these events on April 30th!
