Corbyn is the son of Brian Jackson and Dani and Ryan Stevenson.
He is involved in FFA, FBLA, SALT, Football, Basketball, and Track.
.
Corbyn is a dedicated student that is nice to other people. When asked why he thought he was selected for Student of the Month, Corbyn answered, “I am involved in the school and do what I can to make it a better place. One of my goals is to be looked at as a positive role model .”
Mrs. Mein feels that Corbyn was chosen for Student of the Month because “He is an outstanding leader, that has done a great job at motivating others in classes as well as on the court. He is always willing to step up to help others, even at the middle or elementary schools.”
Congratulations Corbyn!

The Jr. High Scholars Bowl team had their first tournament of the year at Centre.
Both the 7th and 8th grade teams received second place!! It was a great beginning to the season!

March Breakfast and Lunch Menu

Good afternoon, COVID-19 numbers continue to decline in our County and across the State. The COVID team has determined that Herington schools will continue to operate in the "yellow" for the upcoming week. Thank you

Mrs. Brunner’s fourth grade students were able to Zoom with Doug Peltz, co-creator of Mystery Science (aka Mystery Doug from our HES science curriculum) this afternoon. The students had a blast! He showed us some giant pinecones from huge trees in California and did an experiment with what he calls "anti-helium", or SF6/sulfur hexafloride. #breakingout

HMS Wrestling today at home. Both mats will be on a live feed on the Railer YouTube.

On Monday, Mrs. Kroupa's third to fifth grade remote students learned about baby animals during a Mystery Doug lesson in science, and Tuesday presented a teachable moment related to the lesson! The students were introduced to a da- old baby calf born on the Kroupa family ranch. The calf had been taken into Mrs. Kroupa's basement for a warm-up and needed some extra attention due to the extreme cold. The students enjoyed the surprise and asked many questions about farm animals and care for animals during extreme weather. They fittingly named the calf COBWEB (because cobwebs are found in basements). Welcome to HES, Cobweb! #breakingout

Seniors, sorry for the late notice. I received a scholarship opportunity today from the Flint Hills RECA. The due date is February 19th. Please see your school email for the information.

During this cold remote day the seniors still had a college visit presentations with ESU. The best part of it is that Admissions Counselor, Katie Martin is a 2015 graduate of HHS!!

Tonight's HHS basketball games at Lebo have been canceled due to the abnormally cold weather and less than perfect road conditions.
