Second graders did an Earth Day STEM project. They worked with a partner to plant a Truffula Tree and brainstormed how to plant their tree without touching. #breakingouto



Second grade students practiced writing instructions by writing the steps for blowing a bubble, then drew themselves making one. Finally, they got to practice with a piece of gum! #breakingout

Tonight the Promenade with be downtown starting at Central National Bank and then the prom guests will come down to community building lining their cars up closest the old football field.

First graders in Ms. Fegan's class have been reading stories about how different things are built. This week, they heard "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs" and tried to build their own wolf-proof structures using Play-Doh and toothpicks. They had some awesome ideas! #breakingout




The Board met Monday night and Herington High School Senior Graduates will be issued 12 tickets per senior for May 16th Graduation Ceremony.

Kindergarten remote student Eloa explored 3D shapes using clay and toothpicks. She made a cone, a cube, and a cylinder. #breakingout

Sarah Biehler won a National PEO scholarship of $2,500!! She was sponsored by our local chapter and was a national winner. One of 900 that won in the nation. We as a very small chapter are very excited about this award for her!!

Little Railers Preschoolers are so lucky to have such knowledgeable and talented assistant teachers! Miss Georgia brought her bee-keeping tools as well as honeycomb, beeswax products, and honey sticks to show the preschoolers last week. She also brought a variety of insect samples for children to inspect with magnifying glasses. Preschoolers are #breakingout with hands-on experiences to study our curriculum unit on insects!




The Herington CKTL Track Meet will be held today starting at 4:30pm at the Herington High School Track. Field events and the 3200m run will start at 4:30pm followed by all other running events starting at 5:30pm.
This meet has been rescheduled from Tuesday the 20th to Monday the 19th!!!

Youth Football Camp!

HES Families: Because of the forecasted weather, we are going to postpone our “Lunch on the Lawn” and “Down on the Farm Literacy Night” events that were originally scheduled for this upcoming Friday, April 16th. These events will now be scheduled for Friday, April 30th. The “Lunch on the Lawn” will continue to occur during your child’s regularly scheduled lunch time. We will also be switching the menu to chicken nuggets and other food items more conducive to a picnic on the lawn. If you would like to eat a school lunch that date, please purchase your ticket by Thursday, April 29th. Contact the office at 785-258-3234 to purchase tickets and find out your child’s exact lunch time. The “Down on the Farm Literacy Night” is still slated to begin at 6:00 and more information will be sent home sometime in the next couple of weeks. Please make plans to attend these events on April 30th!
