This evening's MS basketball games vs Centre and HS JV boys basketball game at Goessel have been postponed. We are looking at rescheduling these activities.

Happy snow/ice day! Today begins our Kansas Day Spirit Week. Today’s theme is “No Place Like Home”. How appropriate!! So students AND teachers/staff of all 3 buildings, let’s see those outfits! Mrs. Steiner’s third grade students completed a Flat Stanley or Flat Stella project recently! The students were proud to show off their art skills and how they created their own unique Stanley or Stella. #breakingout

Mrs. Weber's kindergarten students enjoyed a fun read aloud with Mr. Morgan! In the story, a student is reluctant to put on his snow suit for recess. The teacher and principal chat with the student and somehow a huge mix-up occurs with their clothes! At that point, the principal decides to move to Arizona where he has no more snow suits to deal with. #breakingout

Winter Homecoming and Senior Night 2021 Congratulations to the Candidates and Class Attendants!! Senior Night and Homecoming Ceremony will take place at the HHS basketball game tomorrow night. Schedule of activities is as follows. 6:00pm Varsity Girls vs Little River Between games we will recognize our senior players and parents. 7:00pm Varsity Boys vs Peabody Halftime of the boys game we will have the Homecoming Ceremony. Spectator guidelines for Herington High School Games, Senior Night, and Homecoming will follow KSHSAA, County, and USD487 policies. Each basketball player, homecoming candidate, little attendant, and class attendant are allowed 2 parents/guardians only into the event. Cost of attendance will be $5.00.

The U S D 487 COVID team has determined that the district will continue to function in the "yellow" for the upcoming week. We would like to thank all of the patrons of the district for doing their part to keep our students in school. Wearing masks, watching your distance, and good hand hygeine are working!

Friday, January 22nd we will be recognizing Seniors for senior night and celebrating Homecoming. More details tomorrow.

Next Friday, January 29th, is Kansas Day! It is our state's 160th birthday! To celebrate, we are doing a spirit week. All three Schools are getting involved! So dress up when you can and let us show off some Kansas and school pride!!
