Congratulations to Avery Monnington!! She is a Class of 2023 Rudd Scholarship winner. The Rudd Scholarship covers all cost that other scholarships do not cover during four years of college. Over 1000 students apply for this scholarship in the State of Kansas and only 30 are chosen each year. After the top 50 applicants in the state are chosen based on their application, they then interview with a panel from the Rudd Foundation. Finally, the top 30 are chosen. The scholarship can be used at WSU, FHSU, or ESU. HHS is proud of you Avery, you earned it!

Happy Valentines Day from the Family and Consumer Science Culinary Arts kids…

The 2022-2023 class for Dickinson County's Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program were at HHS this morning to present on the program to the current junior class. Dickinson County's CEO program is the first of it's kind in the State of Kansas. Students attend businesses in Dickinson County every school day for the first two hours of the day where they receive mentoring and business knowledge from business leaders around the area. This hands on and project based learning culminates with each student creating his or her own business and presenting it at a tradeshow. This year, Colson McIntyre was representing HHS in the program.

Sophia Weber, Kansas State FBLA President and Mountain Plains VP, along with sponser Lisa Beye, traveled to Washington DC for FBLA week. Today they spent the day at the Senate and House Offices for appointments with Kansas Representative, Tracey Mann and staff members of our Senators. Sophia talked about the FBLA organization as well as CTE Education.
