HES had a couple of assistant principals today! Leah Tener and Isabelle Shearer used some of the points they were awarded because of their positive behavior to earn these roles for part of the day. These two helped pass out notes, visited with some of the younger students about their behavior, and visited some classrooms. They did a great job!

The HES PTO and administrative team is putting together the “treat train” for the HES teachers and staff for teacher appreciation week next month (May 5th- 9th)! We want to make this a special week for the amazing teachers and staff at HES. We are asking our parents, local businesses, stakeholders, and anyone else to please help us stock the treat train by donating any of the following items: gift cards to local businesses, candles, lotion, teacher school supplies (expo markers, flare pens, etc.), earrings, snacks, drinks, etc. Any type of donation would be wonderful and can be turned in to the HES office. Let’s make sure our National Blue Ribbon School and Challenge Award winning staff is feeling appreciated!

Freshmen students in Miss Rookstool’s English class are preparing to read “Romeo and Juliet.” Today they completed a fact sheet about Shakespeare and then had the choice of working on a themed crossword or creating their very own Portrait of the Bard. The students really let their creativity show! 🎭
