Parent Information Night will be held on August 13, 2024 from 6:30-8:00 pm. There will be a lot of information to share and be excited about! Also, all the schools will be getting together for an ice cream social. We hope to see you all there!
Herington Elementary School and Little Railers Preschool has openings for full time and part time paraeducator positions. These are USD305 CKCIE cooperative paraeducator positions (these positions report for duty on site at Herington Elementary School but are employed through USD305). BIG CHANGES COMING!!!!! There will be new arrival/breakfast times for the students of USD 487. This school year, students may begin arriving to the buildings at 7:35 a.m. Breakfast will be served from 7:35-7:55. Classes will begin at 8 a.m. for all students. Dismissal times will remain the same (3:15 for Preschool, 3:25 for MS/HS, 3:30 for Kindergarten, and 3:35 for 1st-5th grades).
Thursday, August 1st is the last day of summer weights. Morning weights will start up after school and sport practices have started. Great job this summer Railers!!!
SENIOR & SENIOR PARENTS -- PLEASE READ -- If you are involved in a sport or band, you will receive a banner, paid by Orange Express. If you were not able to make it on Saturday, we will take your photos, please do not worry that you will not get a banner. There is no need to reach out to anyone at this time, we will take photos when school is back in session.
We are once again offering backpacks. In order for us to have them by the end of August we will need to order by August 1st. The price of the backpack is $55. There is no additional charge for the personalization. Payment for the backpack needs to be made before the order is made. Payments can be dropped off at the district office. FBLA members are spending the day at Pittsburgh State University attending the Summer Leadership Conference. Those attending are Koryn Alexander, Isabelle Ecklund, Mallory Arnold and Aidan Thibodeau.
STUCO officers were greeted by some familiar faces when they arrived at camp this afternoon. They will spend the week at ESU — have a great time, guys!

Railers, here is a great opportunity if you want to take an EMT course. Please see the flyers. The cost for high school students is only any fees and textbooks required. This is a 12 credit hour course and is greatly reduced for high school students. Any non-high school students can take advantage of this as well since it is Kansas Promise Act eligible.
Cheyenne Purkeypyle and Adrian Harrison are spending the week at ESU for the Kansas Future Teacher Academy. They are representing Herington High School among the over 100 participants for this summer’s camp! Have fun girls! #railerproud
With tomorrow being the last day of football camp, the whole team will not be doing our normal camp from 8-10 AM.
Instead, all football players are invited to meet at the Herington pool tomorrow from noon til 2 PM for a little pool workout and team bonding.
Athletes please bring swimming attire and footwear appropriate for the pool as well as a towel and water to drink/snacks as well, just no glass containers please.
High school football camp will be next week July 8th through 12th from 8 AM to 10 AM. All that is required by players is Cleats, athletic attire, and a water bottle.
Community Service opportunity for HHS students —
FCCLA/ FBLA/HOSA would like to say "Thank You" to our school for supporting us on our trip to National Conferences. We also want to thank anyone whom supported our kids with donations and buying crispitos. This is a great experience for our students and we could not do it without your support!

The Community Service Project has made finals and will compete this morning at 10:52. Their project is Might Mustangs Basketball. Good Luck to Tyus, Sophia and Kenzie!!
FCCLANational Conference update. Cheyanne Purkypyle made the stage in Nation Challenge Test Education and Training. She made the top 3. Very proud of her.
