Herington FCCLA went to their District C Fall Leadership Conference Wednesday in Salina. Karizma Matthews was the President for the district and other members were leaders or attended breakout sessions on Leadership.
Seniors participated in Mock Interviews this afternoon. A special thank you to our community members who came to interview our seniors.
HHS teachers and students are happy to celebrate Mr. Paul this boss's day! It is also National Principals Month. Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Paul!
Art Competition Information
The National Blue Ribbon Award celebration at Herington Elementary School took place on Friday. The celebration included unveiling of Blue Ribbon banners, music, recognition of staff and dignitaries, an all-school picture, activity stations and a dance. A big Railer Shoutout to the many, many people who made this event so special. #RailerRewind
Mini Cheer Clinic Update:
Due to an exciting large number of students participating, the mini cheer clinic location has been moved to the Herington Elementary Gym. An email has been sent to all parents who have had their student sign up with more information. Please check your email and let us know if you have any questions.

JV Football Game - Cancelled
Due to lack of numbers there will not be a JV at Herington tomorrow, October 14th.
HES Families: We are going to move the dance party portion of our National Blue Ribbon School celebration into the HES gymnasium. We will start this around 3:00! Thank you for everyone's flexibility!

Congratulations to senior volleyball player, Leslyn Kremeier, for being a featured athlete in the October edition of VYPE magazine.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ON EVENT LOCATION - Thursday,October 17:
Thursday, October 17th Herington JH will be playing Peabody JH. The game is scheduled to be played at Herington. However, due to the fact that Peabody is playing 6-man football the option of playing the football game on an 8-man field vs playing on an 11-man field has been made. The football game only will be played at Centre Schools next Thursday. The volleyball matches will still be played in Herington. Those matches will be played in the Elementary Gym due to HS Volleyball being played in the HS/MS Gyms.
We also know that it is 8th grade recognition. We will recognize 8th grade volleyball between the A and B matches at approximately 5:30 in the Herington Elementary Gym. 8th grade football will be recognized at Centre Schools at 5:45.
We appreciate your willingness to be flexible with the changes that are being made next Thursday. Herington passes will be accepted at the football game at Centre!

Today middle and high school students went to an assembly put on by Jared Blake and Bigg Vinny of “Live to Be.” The program “shares a positive focus with youth and encourages them to achieve the goals they have created with a strong sense of accomplishment along the way.” Find out more on their website livetobe.org
