Ms. Hawkins' 6th-grade advisory class has to participate in a Valentine's Day Escape Room to receive their Valentine's Day treat! They had to work in groups to solve clues to unlock their gifts! They had to read clues, solve math problems, and perform science experiments to move on to the next clue.





Preschoolers spread joy today by giving Valentines to people at school who help them. Students made them during library time after reading Mr. Goat’s Valentine last week. #LevelUpRailers.

NOTICE OF CALENDAR ADJUSTMENT
April 10th, 2024 Herington High School will host the Wheat State League Forensics tournament. This means that HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY will be released from school at 12:30 p.m. (immediately following lunch) on April 10th. All other buildings will stay in session until 3:30 and afternoon bus routes will run as normal.

Middle School Quiz Bowl competed in their first meet today in Wakefield. 8th graders tied with Rural Vista for second place with a 3-2 record, but the point margin was less for Rural Vista so Herington took 3rd out of 6 teams. 7th grade finished 3-2 also and took home 2nd place, earning a certificate! Great job Railers! They will travel to Centre on 26th.


FBLA Member Spotlight


Mr. Hirsch’s Kansas History class were learning about prehistoric Kansas. Student groups picked out a prehistoric animal and researched it. Then they recreated a 2D skeleton of the animal using popsicle sticks.
“This is one of my favorite projects,” Mr. Hirsch said. “I love seeing the creativity of my students.”





If you ordered a CRUSH soda for Valentine's Day, you need to make sure you pay! If payment is not received, NHS will not deliver them. Money can be taken to any of the school offices -- make sure your name is on the payment!

Karizma Matthers has been a District officer this past year. Next year she will be the District C President. This summer she will attend Nationals in Seattle, Wa.


Korey Meier a senior has been a state officer for HOSA his Junior year. And a District Officer for FCCLA for the last two. As a senior he acted as the District President. He had attended Nationals for both HOSA and FCCLA.
