Aidan Thibodeau was the HHS representative for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) essay contest. His essay won for Dickinson county and was sent to the state level competition. Aidan received a certificate, DAR pin, and a $300 award.

Two members of the HMS track team broke WSL track records at the league meet in Goessel this past Tuesday.
7th grader Maddox Gentz broke the LJ record with a jump of 17-05.
8th grader Jah'cure Thomas broke the TJ record with a jump of 38-09.

The Herington High School Community Service Project held an Alzheimer's Walk at the track today. Advisory competed in raising money for the cause. Thank you to Atalie Alexander, Koryn Alexander and Leland Urban for organizing the event.

HES third grade students helped plant green beans and cherry tomatoes in the community garden earlier this week!
We want you!! USD 487 is looking for interested individuals to represent the district as a Herington Recreation League Board member. If this is you, please come to the district office (19 N. Broadway) and pick up a short application!
This is a reminder to the 8th-grade parents that next Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, is your students' 8th-grade recognition night. The recognition will be in the High School Gym and starts at 7:00 PM. 8th grade students are to arrive at 6:45 PM and report to the HS commons. We ask that the 8th graders please dress nicely while following the dress code. After the recognition, there will be the Middle School Spring Dance over in the Middle School. We ask that each 8th grader bring a snack-type food item (chips, cookies, meat and cheese tray, a couple of students can do this together, etc for the middle schoolers to enjoy. These items can be dropped off during the day on Tuesday or can be brought that evening. The Student Council will purchase the drinks, plates, cups, the photo booth, and music. If an 8th-grade parent would like to chaperone, please reach out to Ms. Hawkins. Any questions, please contact the Middle School Office or Ms. Hawkins.
