HHS has students in leadership roles at the State and National Level this year at NLC! Sophia Weber is ending her term as Mountain Plains Vice President. Mallory Arnold is starting her term as Kansas State Editor and Aidan Thibodeau is beginning his term as District III Vice President.

FBLA students in Atlanta have competed in a variety of competitions. Eleanor, Will and Ashley in Business Financial Plan. Mallory, Kenzie and Sierra in Graphic Design. Aidan in Healthcare Administration and Lucas in Business Calculation.





Junior high basketball camp is canceled this Friday because of floors being refinished. See you all July 14th.

Middle and high school students - if you are in need or interested in community service hours, please contact Ms. Hawkins about working the swim meet on Saturday! You would need to work 8-12ish!

The HMS volleyball team will have summer camp on July 10th through July 13th. It will be held at the HES gym. Returning girls from last year will practice at 9:15 to 10:00 am. Incoming 6th graders and first year players will practice from 10:15 to 11:00 am.
Sports physicals are not required for camp, but will be needed in order to participate on the first day of practice on August 14th.

This morning, HHS HOSA members went to the 6th Floor at Dealey Plaza Museum, where they learned about President Kennedy’s assassination almost 60 years ago. And HHS HOSA students waiting for the Grand Awards Session and closing ceremony.





The HHS HOSA Health Education Team (Aidan, Mallory, & Maggie) competed this afternoon and did a great job. Results won’t be available until Saturday evening.
Today the HHS students stopped by the Dallas World Aquarium, the Museum of Illusions, and took in the Dallas Skyline during the day and after dark from Reunion Tower.
Adrianna will compete in the Behavioral Health Exam in the morning at 8:30. Good luck Adrianna!




Our HHS HOSA students have arrived in Dallas for the opening session of the 2023 International HOSA convention.
On the way, we stopped in Oklahoma City to see the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial and Museum. Our students learned about the day, the connection to our hometown, and stories of survivors. We took pictures outside in front of the “Survivor Tree” as well as signed the guestbook.
Competitive events begin tomorrow with our Health Education Team competing tomorrow in the early afternoon. Good luck to Aidan, Mallory, and Maggie!!!

Summer Boost is in full swing at HES! In addition to working on reading and math, students have also completed fun activities with some visitors. These activities included making butter with Ms. Paula, making robots with Shelby from the Kstate Extension Agency, learning about rats from Hanne, and listening to Miss Susan share stories and crafts with us! #GameOnRailers










There will be no morning weights for HS Boys & Junior High on Thursday June 15th. Weights wil resume on Monday as normal.
There WILL be Girls HHS/HMS weights on Thursday at 8:00.

HMS Basketball Opportunities


Herington Fire and police departments will be conducting training exercises in USD 487 school buildings, this week. We are excited to partner with local agencies to improve emergency responses in our community!

Summer Weights will begin Tuesday, May 30th. HS Boys 7-8; MS/HS Girls 8-9; MS Boys and all that can't make the first two sessions 9-10. Individual Coaches will share schedules for the summer.

Your child has been enrolled in Drivers Education for this summer. The first day of class will be tomorrow May 23rd starting at 8am to 10am. After the first week of class there will be a schedule sent out about class times and driving times. Drivers Ed will be completed by June 24th if not before. Thank you!
