
K-2 HES families: tonight is the winter music program! Students can arrive and head to the classrooms between 6:30-6:45 and the program will begin at 7:00 in the elementary gym. 3-5 will have their program tomorrow at 7:00. We will still be having KRR after school so if your student is not going to be attending after school please notify the office!

Emma Bigham attended the HOSA State Officer Retreat at KU Med on Thursday and Friday. Officers planned the spring activities and then toured some of the hospital facilities including the Hoglund Brain imaging lab, Orthopedic Research lab and Clinical lab. Emma is the State President of HOSA.

HMS basketball teams split with Rural Vista tonight with the girls team’s comeback falling a little short in a 37-24 defeat while the boys team came through with a 32-28 victory. Great games, Railers!

Throughout high school, she has participated in Cheer, Dance Team, Scholars Bowl, the Mentor
Program, FCCLA, FBLA, HOSA, FFA, NHS,
Student Council, Treehuggers, Drama Club, Choir, and tutoring.
Mrs. Gonzolas believes “Hailey was chosen as
Student of the Month because she is a leader who is willing to help others whenever necessary. Also, she works hard to do well in the classroom and in
extracurricular activities.”

The middle school staff members chose 7 th grader, Tyler Urbanek, as the November Student of the Month. Tyler has participated in volleyball, basketball, track, band and Student Council during her 2
years at the middle school. Tyler feels that the teachers chose her as student of the month because she is focused and works hard in and out of the classroom and that she is kind to everyone.
Tyler is the daughter of Leann and Andy Urbanek.


Herington Preseason Basketball Tournament


Thank you to Maggie Eades for taking time out of her busy schedule to meet with Mrs. Beye’s accounting class. They are working on a business financial plan project for FBLA. The project is a plan for a gas station on Hwy 77.


5th grade students in Mrs. Beames’ class discovered their own planets. They created a physical model and identified the name, composite, climate, rotation, size, atmosphere, location, moons, and gravity of their new discoveries! #growinglearners





Mrs. Beye’s Employability Skills class participated in mock job interviews this morning. Thank you to Mr. Wilson, Mr. Fox, Mr. Prichard, Ms. Rand and Mr. Beye for your help in conducting the interviews.
