September Male Athlete of the Month Craig Rutschman, son of Kara and Kevin Rutschman, has been awarded male Athlete of the Month for September. Craig believes he was chosen because of his passion for the Cross Country team. “I show a lot of leadership for the team, and always give my teammates individual inspiration to do better. I have a lot of hope for the Cross Country team, and I wish for the best to my teammates and I for the rest of the season. Craig is currently a Junior who is involved in, Cross Country, Drama Club, and FBLA. When asked, Cross Country Coach, and teacher Tammy Greenley said, “Craig is an awesome young man and athlete! He has a great attitude both in school and when he is with his teammates on the cross country team. He is always quick to build them up and encourage them! He works hard and has a great work ethic both when he is racing and practicing and with his school work. He has great potential and I look forward to seeing what the season brings for him!” Congratulations Craig!

September Female Athlete of the Month Carrie Roe, daughter of Tammie and Kenny Roe has been awarded September female athlete of the month. Carrie thinks she was chosen because she has been representing Herington High at the Varsity level since Freshman year, and has worked hard in the off season and continually pushing herself and her teammates to play at the best of our abilities. Carrie is an involved Junior, who is apart of Volleyball, Basketball, Track, Swim Team, Weights, FBLA, NHS, FFA, Student Council, Drama Club, Band, Scholar’s Bowl, and is the Vice President of her class. When asked, Coach Beye said, “I think Carrie was chosen because she has worked very hard in the off season to improve her level of play. She has stepped up on her team to become a positive leader. She has realized the importance of positive leadership and what that leadership can do to the culture of a team. So far this season she has led her to team to a 12-4 start.”

Conner LaRosa, son of Eric and Debbie LaRosa has been awarded Student of the Month for September. Conner thinks he was selected because of his work ethic and for being a good role model in the school. Throughout his high school years, Conner has participated in football, basketball, track, FBLA, HOSA, and FFA. When asked, Mrs. Geissert said, “Conner is a conscientious, hard working young man. He expects the best of himself, so he does whatever it takes to accomplish that. He also has a fun sense of humor, and he treats others with respect.” Congratulations Conner!
