Thank you to the Herington community and the students of USD 487 for all their assistance and cooperation with this most recent investigation. Your tips and information led to the identification of the person responsible for the school threat. This person has been placed in police custody. Our commitment to student safety is strengthened when we all work together.

Good Luck to the HMS Volleyball Team at League Tournament today.

After extensive investigation, the school threat from Friday has not been found credible. Due to the level of anxiety created by this situation, HPD will be on campus to provide increased security. School counselors will also be available for students.

To all USD 487 parents, a general school threat was discovered, written on a picnic table, after last night's football game. Herington PD and USD 487 are actively investigating this anonymous threat. We understand this can cause a lot of emotional responses, but want to assure everyone there is no immediate danger. USD 487 staff will continue to work hard to ensure that students are safe at school. Our goal is to be transparent and forthcoming about any safety issues.

Railer Football will host Bennington for Senior Night tonight at 7:00pm. Senior Night Ceremonies for Kayland Alexander, Brody Brown, Holden Coffman, Jacob Howe, Colton Steger, and Kody White will begin at 6:45. See you there! Go Railers

The Herington Schools faculty and staff are beginning to implement the Kansas School Redesign initiative. Our purpose for this is to make sure each student has every opportunity to succeed.
We want your input! Please stop by the east side of the concession stand by the end of the first quarter of tonight’s football game (10/18/19) to jot down a few words or a sentence answering this question:
What do you believe a successful USD 487 student should know and/or be able to do?
