HHS Attends FCA Spring Conference

Nine Herington High School students attended the FCA spring conference held at Rock Springs 4-H ranch on April 10th and 11th.  This two day, state-wide FCA event brought in more than 500 hundred middle school and high school students from across Kansas.  Those attending from Herington were: Eric Bukowski, Allen Simmons, Alex Black, Chance Berndt, Anastasia Morgan, Cora Jones, Rikki Hart, Makenzie Dornbusch, and Brianna Blackwell along with sponsors Mr. Hoops, Mr. Fuemmeler, and Mr. Emig.

At the camp, students were actively involved in competition games, huddle discussions, and listening to a variety of chapel speakers.  The featured speaker for the event was Wayne Simien, a former University of Kansas basketball player and also played with the Miami Heat in the NBA.

The state FCA conference is held every fall and spring at Rock Springs with music provided by Kyle Cooper from Nashville, Tennesse.  FCA is a new organization in Herington High School this year that meets one time a month in Mr. Hoops room after sports practices.
