February Activities and Events for Herington Elementary School

Dear Herington School Parent,

We would like to inform you of the events and activities for this February:

• On Tuesday, February 9th there will be a Herington Grade School PTO meeting from 6:30-7:00 pm in the grade school cafeteria.  Right after the meeting at 7:00 pm there will be a family game night.  Parents and their children will have various games to play together in the gym.   Also, the Title I teachers will have computers on the stage and web sites for parents to explore that children may use to assist them in their math and reading.

• Mr. Harmison would like to remind parents that their child’s Hoops for Heart fundraising packets are due on or before Wednesday, February 10th.  

• There will be an early dismissal at 1:30 pm Wednesday, February 10th for all students in the district.  Lunch will be served that day.  There will be no Fast Forward or After School Program that day.

• There is no school for students and staff on Monday, February 15th.   School will resume normal operation on Tuesday, February 16th.  

• Parent teacher conferences are scheduled Tuesday, February 16th and Thursday, February 18th.   Please make sure your teacher has contacted you and you have set up a time to visit with them.  There will be no After School programs on those days.

• The Dickinson County Health Department will be having a H1N1 Flu Clinic at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 23rd from 3pm to 7pm.  They will be giving the H1N1 shot and the seasonal flu shot if available.  There is no charge for the H1N1 shot.  The seasonal flu shot is $30 and they will file insurance for those insurances they contract with.   You need to bring a H1N1 vaccination card if a child has had their first dose (children under 10) or a driver license.  Parental consent is required for children to receive vaccine.
