Drop into the library to enjoy the new library atmosphere where students are encouraged to read what they like as well as learning for their future. Popular series, titles, authors and award winning opportunities await those who enter! Join the fun, Mrs. Bryan
K -1st Flexible 20-30 minutes of story time / check out and recreational reading.
Focus- Learn care of books, recall, characters, story line, setting, vocabulary

Focus on checking out, library protocol, vocabulary, nursery rhymes, fairy tales, and comprehension, and reading for pleasure
2nd 30 minutes – check out and story time

Focus -Tall Tales, alphabetical order, Caldecott, Biographies
3rd-5th Weekly check out and recreational reading. These students can come and go freely the rest of the week. They can read magazines or browse the Destiny Quest online.

3rd Focus - Dictionary skills, alphabetical order, using the computer card catalog

4th Focus on using the card catalog, gathering information, Plagarism

5th Focus on Dewey Decimal, Researching, Bibliographies
New titles for William Allen White Awards
2011-2012

Read 2 of the above titles and vote for the best one in March of 2012. Be part of the process. Students votes are sent to ESU's William Allen White Library to be added to the rest of the student votes all over Kansas.
