Parker Erickson chosen for February SOTM

Senior Parker Erickson was selected as the February Student of the Month. He is the son of Rod and Roberta Erickson.
Parker has many qualities that made him a good choice for student of the Month.
"Parker is a very loyal student to Herington High School and the Herington community. His desire to make himself and others around him successful is shown by his unselfish style. He's very involved in variety of activities which has enabled him to become a good leader and representative of our school in many different ways," said Mr. Tony Hoops, PE teacher and boys basketball coach.
"He might have been chosen for student of the month because he is a fun student to have in class. He has terrific personality, and he keeps me on my toes.
Parker also works to keep his grades up, and he is involved in extracurricular activities," said Mrs. Darlene Griffiths, math instructor and StuCo sponsor.
Parker participates in StuCo, FCA, football, basketball and golf.
He thinks he was chosen for student of the month because he is awesome- a great student and great at sports.
"Parker's personality is something that shines, making him a good candidate for student of the month," said Miss Megan Clark, FACS instructor.
After high school Parker plans to attend a community college where he wants to play golf.
Others nominated for student of the month were Seniors Chris Stroda, Drake Heitfield, Katie Lyons, Jordon Polston and Tyler Barber; Juniors Chandler Erickson, Matt Biehler, Chelsea Commerford, Moriah Dolbow, Kaitlin Patterson, Katey Staatz and Zach Steger; Sophomores Dylan Geissert, Dylan Barber, Donavan Davis, Savannah Bukowski; and Freshmen Colgan Powell, Kaitlyn Harold, Anastasia Morgan, Brianna Blackwell and Kaven Makovec.
