Herington Grade School Awarded the Challenge Award for 2009

Herington Elementary School Receives
Challenge Award

The Herington Elementary School has been awarded a Certificate of Merit as part of the 7th Annual Challenge Awards sponsored by the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force. This award recognizes schools for outstanding achievement and uncommon accomplishment based on Kansas Assessment results form 2009 and other qualifying factors, specifically the sample size, ethnicity, and socio-economic status of those taking the test. Herington Elementary School has been honored as a result of its performance on the 3rd Grade Reading assessment.

A recognition dinner has been scheduled for Thursday, November 12 at Lakewood Middle School in Salina. Mrs. Gutsch from third grade will receive the award.
