Herington Elementary School Receives
Standard of Excellence
The Herington Elementary School was identified as a school that
reached the Kansas Standard of Excellence goals on the 2008-2009
School Report Card. Third through fifth grade students were
assessed in reading, math and science in the spring of 2009 by the
Center of Education Testing and Evaluation at Kansas University.
Every student in grades 3-5 completed three sessions of tests for
each subject area though the schools computer system. Results were
recorded by CETE and analyzed. Herington Elementary School exceeded
state minimum levels of proficiency and advanced goals of
excellence and was awarded the Endorsements of Standards of
Excellence in all three areas on the Building Report Card located
on the Kansas Department of Education web site this Monday, October
12th. The 2009 Standard of Excellence Endorsement will be added to
the banners located in the grade school gym.
