October Events and Activities at the Herington Grade School

Dear Herington Elementary School Parent,
We want to inform you of October events and activities at the
Herington Grade School.
• The Herington Elementary students and staff will walk down to the
Herington High School Homecoming Parade and Rally at Broadway and
Walnut on October 9th at 2:15 pm. Students will return to the
school for the regular dismissal time of 3:35 pm. Normal bus routes
will be run.
• Students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm for a scheduled teacher
work day on Friday, October 16th. Buses will run their normal
routes at that time. There will be no After School Services or
Afternoon Fast Forward that day. No lunch will be served that
day.
• Parent Teacher Conferences will be on Monday, October 19th and
Thursday October 22nd from 4:00-8:00 pm. Please make sure you have
scheduled an appointment to visit with your child’s teacher on one
of those two days.
• There will be no After School Program or Afternoon Fast Forward
on Monday, October 19th and Thursday, October 20th due to Parent
Teacher Conferences. Please make sure you have made arrangements
for your child if they attend the After School Program.
• Student picture retakes will be taken on Wednesday, October 21st.
Parents may return their students portrait packages and have
students retake their pictures. Also, if students missed having
their picture taken in September, they may do so at this time.
Parents will need to fill out a picture packet available in the
office.
• There will be no school on Friday, October 23rd. Classes will
resume on Monday, October 2
