Senior Crysta Brockmeier has been selected as the October
Student of Month. She is the daughter of Phil and Roann
Brockmeier.
Crysta thinks she was selected because she works hard and gives
100 percent on every assignment.
This involved senior doesn't have a favorite class. She enjoys
going to all of her classes and learning something new about each
subject.
The most important lesson Crysta has learned as a senior is that
she should not just study the night before a test, but she should
study a little each night so she doesn't forget any of her class
subjects.
Crysta describes herself as a hard-working, goal-setting student
and athlete who always gives her best effort in all aspects of
school and sports. She also can relax and have fun.
"Joking is a routine part of my day, so expect a laugh when you
see me," Crysta said.
She believes that her parents have helped her achieve all that
she has. They encourage her to always do her best, and they
repeatedly tell her that they are proud of her.
Her plans after high school are to attend Kansas State
University and major in accounting.
Mrs. Kim Coover, science instructor, thinks that Crysta is a
good candidate for Student of the Month.
"Crysta does an excellent job of balancing. She is involved in
many different activities, and she dedicates her time and effort to
each one so that none of them are neglected. She is a strong
academic and athletic leader in her class, which gives the other
students someone to look up to as a positive role model," Mrs.
Coover said.
Other nominees for student of the month were seniors Alex
Gonzolas, Allisha Burgess, Amanda Vargason, Chanell Makovec, Jacob
Mueller, Jake Meyer, Jason Martin, Lance Shriver, Ronessa Strome,
Savanah Gaudin, and Torey Berndt; and sophomores Josh Connors and
Katey Staatz.
Student of the Month is sponsored by National Honor Society.
Students are nominated by teachers. From those nominees, faculty
and staff vote for their choice.
