Deb Giessert took the Scholar's Bowl to Quest on Saturday.  These are the results.

Quest at Washburn University on Saturday, Dec. 6

Team:  Drew Magathan, Ryan Schlesener, Allen Simmons, Josh Brunner, Dylan Geissert.  Every school in the state is invited.  We competed to see how many points we could score.  We scored 290.  The top score in class 3A was 880, the low score was 200.  Our score history is: 07-08 - 640 points, 06-07 - 260 points, and 05-06 - 265 points.  So, I think we did pretty well.  The top 16 teams move on to the televised portion of the competition.  All of the qualifying schools are 5 and 6 A teams, except Clifton Clyde, which is 2A.

Our next competition is Dec. 18 at Bennington - a varsity meet.

The results are in for the individual results for wrestling tournament that took place last Saturday at Wamego.  Here are the results:

James Mulderrig - 3 wins 1 loss
Andrew Mieher - 4 wins 1 loss
Jayce DeMont - 5 wins 0 losses
Brandon Nuss - 2 wins 3 losses
Nick Trapp - 3 wins 2 losses
Mike Shearer - 4 wins 1 loss
Chance Berndt - 1 win 4 losses
Danny Watson - 1 win 3 losses

The next action for the Herington Wrestlers will be Thursday at Smoky Valley in Lindsborg.  Good Luck to them

The Jr. High teams traveled to Chase County to play the Bulldogs.  The teams did play hard, but not all of them came out victorious.  The next action for the Middle school is Thursday December 11th here at Herington against Americus.  Good Luck to the Jr. Railers.

The High School Basketball teams started the season on Friday night, by hosting the Canton-Galva Eagles.  The C team boys, JV Boys and Varsity boys were all victorious for a great start to the season.  The JV and Varsity girls both lost, and will be rebounding on Tuesday night against the Centre Cougars.  Good Luck to all the railers in this week's pre-season basketball tournament here in Herington.

The Wrestling team traveled to Wamego and as a team, they finished 7th out of 10 teams.  Look for individual results as soon as I receive them.
