The April Student of the Month is Senior Josh Patterson. Josh is
the son of Jeff and Dede Patterson.
“He is a dedicated student with strong goals for his future, and he
works extremely hard,” Counselor Tammie Svitak said.
Throughout high school Josh has been involved in many activities,
including Scholars’ Bowl, Model UN, Robotics Team, Math Club,
Academic Decathlon, and the gifted program. He also is a National
Merit Scholarship finalist.
Josh thinks that he was chosen as student of the month because he
contributes to discussions in class, finishes his work the right
way and completes it on time. His favorite class in high school is
American Government.
In his free time Josh works at Barnes Food Center and enjoys
reading books.
After high school Josh plans to attend Kansas University where he
will major in Computer Science. In 10 years Josh sees himself
owning a company that installs and designs computer systems.
Josh’s motivation to succeed is his dad, because he knows that his
dad sets high expectations and wants Josh to fulfill those
expectations.
The other nominees for April’s Student of the Month were seniors
