Dear Herington Elementary
School Parent,
We have some activities
and events to remind you for the month of April and May.
•
School will
not be in session Friday, April
11th and Monday, April 14th. School
will
resume
Tuesday, April 15th at its usual time.
•
Due to a conflict in scheduling, the Herington Elementary Field Day
will be changed from
Thursday, May
8th to Wednesday, May 7th.
Kindergarten through Fifth Grade will
participate in the
activities from 8:45am-11:45am and 1:00pm-3:00pm. Lunch
tickets must
be purchased through
the grade school office for the hot dog picnic by April
30th. The
awards assembly is
scheduled for Thursday morning May 8th at 8:30 am.

Kindergarten round up is scheduled for Friday, May
2nd. During this round up students are
screened to determine their readiness to start school in the
kindergarten and parents are given information about the
kindergarten program. Parents are asked to bring social
security numbers, birth certificates, shot records and medical
health information. Information will be available to obtain
shots, physicals, medical insurance and birth certificates if
needed. All students who will start kindergarten and have a
birthday on or before August 31st, 2003 must set up a
time to be screened. Appointments are from 8:30am to
2:30pm in one hour increments. Parents need to call the
office at 258-3234 and set up an appointment to have their student
screened before May 2nd.

The Herington Grade School Spring Program will be Tuesday, April
22nd at 7:00pm. The
theme for the spring program is “Heroes and
Friends.” Students should dress up a little more than a
regular school day, which means no t-shirts with writing or
pictures, no sweat pants/running pants, and no shorts.
Girls can wear capris, gauchos, etc… The doors will open at
6:30 pm. Students are asked to report by 6:45 pm to their
assigned classes. The first two rows of seating on the gym
floor is reserved for the elderly and handicapped.
