Junior Alex Gonzolas has been chosen as the February Student of
the Month. He is the son of Phillip and Janet Gonzolas.
Alex thinks he was chosen because he has been working hard, and he
tries to be kind and respectful to his teachers so they like
him.
Alex is involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, Mixed
Choir, Drama Club, football, forensics and Scholars Bowl. He also
is the girls basketball manager.
Although Alex is very involved, he still manages to keep his grades
up, placing on the high honor roll last nine weeks.
“He is involved in many school activities, keeps his grades up and
is a positive student leader,” said Mrs. Darlene Griffiths, math
instructor.
After high school, Alex would like to attend Butler County
Community College for a communications major in radio or
television. After finishing at Butler, he wants to attend Kansas
University where he will complete his communications degree.
“He is involved in many activities and is a good academic student,”
said Mrs. Caryn Albrecht, attendance secretary.
The other nominees for student of the month were Seniors Alex
Carroll, Alex Vahsholtz, Jessica Perry, Josh Patterson, Kris
Mueller, Robert Barber, Kaleigh Schneider and Zach Kickhaefer;
Sophomores CeCe Murphy, Ryan Schlesener and Tyler Barber; and
Freshman Derek Knopp.
The student of the month is chosen every month by teacher
nominations. It is sponsored by National Honor Society.
