The December student of the month is Senior, Elizabeth Beye. She
is the daughter of Dianne Beye, and Bret and Lisa Beye. Student of
the Month is a nomination process by teachers and staff that is
based on scholarship, leadership, service and character.
Elizabeth is involved in Basketball, Big Brothers/ Big Sisters,
FCCLA President, FBLA, senior class President, Student Council, Art
Club V.P., Rachel’s Challenge, Color guard Captain, Pep Band and
Concert Band. She is also on the High Honor Roll.
“Elizabeth has a strong work ethic and is very dependable, and
she is also a lot of fun to have in class; she also always greets
me with a smile,” said Mrs. Kim Coover.
Elizabeth has many people that influence her in her life. One
major influence is her grandma.
“My grandma taught me not to give up, and she always believed in
me. She also was there for me when times were tough, and taught me
that even though you think you have it hard, there are worse things
that could be happening,” said Elizabeth. She also looks up to her
parents because they encourage her to do better, and that only her
best is expectable.
Elizabeth has set many goals for herself in the future. She
plans on going to Johnson County Community College, in Kansas City,
for Cosmetology. Once she has finished that nine month course, she
wants to get a degree in Sales/Marketing so some day she can sell
for a big hair and make-up company.
Senior Alex Vahshotlz says, “I think she deserves it because she
works hard, and is respectful to everyone.
The other nominees for the December student of the month were
seniors Jessica Perry, Kaleigh Schneider, Zach Kickhaefer and Dale
Mulderrig. Juniors were Jacob Mueller, Alex Gonzolas, and Ryan
Floyd. Sophomores were Jordon Polston, and Freshman Chandler
Erickson.
