Junior Crysta Brockmeier has been chosen to receive the Student
of the Month honor for November. Crysta is the daughter of Phil and
Roann Brockmeier.
“Crysta is a great selection for Student of the Month, because she
excels academically and is actually involved in such a wide variety
of activities,” said Mrs. Kim Coover, science instructor.
The activities in which Crysta is involved are volleyball,
basketball, softball, FCCLA, NHS, jazz band, vocal, softball and
the musical. She also serves as the Junior Class president.
Her favorite sport to play is basketball, and she sets a good
example for her fellow athletes.
“Crysta is a positive role model for all her teammates. She models
how a student athlete should work on the court and off,” said Mr.
Jayson Emig, girls’ basketball coach.
Crysta says that her favorite class is math because of the
challenges it offers.
“I like working out all of the different equations. Math class
pushes me to think harder,” Crysta said.
“Crysta is a self-motivated individual who always strives to do her
best academically and athletically,” said Mr. James Carnes.
Being self-motivated and willing to work hard are some of the
characteristics that have helped Crysta succeed and are ways other
students can be successful, too.
“Always work your hardest and never give up,” Crysta advises other
students.
Other nominees for the November Student of the Month were seniors
Elizabeth Beye, Dustin Geissert, Jessica Perry and Alex Vahsholtz;
juniors Ashley Evans, Alex Gonzolas, Kylie Kilmer, Drew Magathan,
Jake Meyer and Amanda Vargason; sophomores Sarah Demadura and
Jordon Polston; and freshman Kaitlin Patterson.
Student of the month is sponsored by the National Honor
Society.
