Junior Kady Albrecht has been chosen for October student of the
month. She is the daughter of Craig and Caryn Albrecht.
When selecting the student of the month for Herington High
School, many qualities are being evaluated by the teachers.
“I look for both social and academic skills,” said Mrs. Kim
Coover. Academically, she looks for students with good grades,
class participation, good study habits, and the quality of their
work. She also considers how the student treats their peers and
teachers, and if they are kind and respectful.
Kady was chosen because she excels in all of these categories.
Regardless of any differences, she is kind and thoughtful to
everyone. She puts hard work into her academics and doesn’t
settle for anything less than her best. Kady feels honored that the
teachers chose her as the student of the month.
This year Kady has been involved in the following activities:
Stuco, NHS, FCCLA, the musical, mixed choir, jazz band, pep band,
and marching band. She likes her advanced math class the most
because it is the most challenging.
“My parents have influenced me the most this year, because
they’re always telling me to work hard and do my best in
everything,” Kady said. After high school, she plans to attend
Butler Community College where she will begin working toward a
degree in elementary education.
According to Kady, in order to succeed academically, finishing
up homework, turning it in on time, and paying attention in class
are very important. She will continue to do so throughout the year,
along with having a good attitude and being respectful.
